reading a tutorial is such a pain. You need to sit and concentrate for hours, if you are a novice in designing.
But it pays off with equal pleasure.
Nice post!
I follow smashing magazine, psd tuts and find them useful too.
The list of your 5 is also good. I found the last one http://www.Bestpsdtohtml.com really nice, the kind of post it has are a little different from other tuts and does not follow the same suit.
I do not agree that tutorial can teach any one on how to be an efficient slicer. It only comes when you learn it somewhere in real world and then practice
Tutorials are helpful in the process, but will not entirely make you a good designer.Needs Inspiration
Thanks @ Desizn Tech
@Harry
@Sam
@Kelly; for participating in our blog.
I agree with Design Tech and Harry. To be a better designer you need to have inspiration and resources.
But I think tutorials are for them too who already got some knowledge but are stuck in hair thin doubts. They are the ones who extract most of the juice out of it.
As a tutorial writer myself, I feel tutorials provide good starts for any development works since they cover most of the fundamentals.
However, it really takes many practices to improve ownself and create a difference between the good ones and the fantastic ones
Btw, Bestpsdtohtml is very nice! Thanks for introducing it!
I have learned a lot with online tutorials, especially from Jeffrey Way at net.tutsplus.com. He really opened my eyes to the possibilities.
I had pixelcrayons do the coding on a website a while back, and I was very pleased with the result. But, I wanted to make some modifications, and slowly I have gained the skills to do that by watching online video tutorials. Everything takes time, but without those online resources, I wouldn’t be learning nearly as fast.
I continue to better my skills, and eventually hope to do all my own work. But, but if I get stuck, I know I can outsource the code to pixelcrayons and get the project. finished.
Nice post, but I think that if you are looking for quality results, you need experts who know the ins and outs of it all.
